 A new home hopefully
« Thread Started on Jan 30, 2009, 4:49pm »

After a long walk Taigi had finally made it to the meadow. As a sign of relief she dropped her body to the floor in a patch of flowers, acting like a over excited pup. Now all she needed to do was find the pack leader, but first she just wanted to relax. Laying on her back facing the stars was the way that she had always relaxed herself in the late summer.

Cautiously he crept over the low grass, his ears pricked high to catch the sounds that sought him. The sweet smelling grass tickled his nose and the tiny insects buzzed about him. Rasco lifted his head to catch the scent that had been close by him all day, the scent of wolf. To the left he saw trees rise from the ground and stand tall in the sky, proud and strong. If he cast his eyes to the right he saw only the meadow and the animals that raced through it. His thoughts quickly turned to chasing the long legged hares and the various birds. He remembered the fresh meat that his mother had once given him after coming home from the hunt. His mouth watered as the memory washed over him. For the three days he had only fed on the rotting carcass of an elk he had found lying underneath a broken sapling.

A small puddle of fresh water teased him over by a thorn bush. He eased around the thorns and lapped at the water, dehydrated. The summer seemed hot; almost humid to him, with no cooling winds to sooth his burning skin. With thoughts filled of home and his old pack he lifted his maw and howled heaven bound miserably.

Let out a big sigh. Withing a split second she could hear the sound of a sad howl. Instinctively she rolled over an got up to her four paws again. Golden eyes scanning the landscape for the young wolf that let out such a sorrowful howl. Catching a scent on the light breeze she follows it. Wandering through the lush flowers that the meadow held so delicatly, Taigi followed the scent. It wasn't the wolf that she wanted to find. It was an old pup den. One that had been abandoned for many years. Dissappointed at the mistake she had made. The blue-gray female continued her search through the meadow, for that other wolf.
